Red Bull must respond, says Formula One champion Max Verstappen, who is “not happy” with the Miami Sprint.

Despite winning the Florida Sprint Race on Saturday, Max Verstappen stated he was “still not entirely happy” with his Red Bull vehicle.

Starting from pole position, the Dutchman led the whole 19-lap race. Verstappen complained over the radio about his rear tires’ lack of grip, but it wasn’t an easy drive.

Luckily for the 26-year-old, set-up modifications during the Sprint and main race qualifying are permitted according to new Parc Fermé regulations this year. In order to make sure he spends the remainder of the weekend in his car more comfortably, Verstappen is depending on his improvement at that period.

“I think only the start wasn’t particularly great,” he told reporters following the Sprint. However, aside from that, I was only taking care of the tires and, naturally, had no idea how long they would last.

We still need to investigate the car’s balance because we’re not completely satisfied with it. Yes, I agree—a little too much oversteer. Since I experienced the identical issue during yesterday’s [Sprint] qualifying, we’ll attempt to fine-tune it before qualifying.

It thus made it very clear that the current system is probably not the best for quality and race. Even yet, I believe the most significant thing is that we prevailed in the race. We will endeavor to just solidify it a little bit further.

“With the new format, at least, we can still make minor adjustments to the car. So maybe we can tweak it a bit for tomorrow’s race, especially, and later on in qualifying. However, the victory is worthwhile. That makes me pleased. It also offers us a few useful things to consider in order to get better.”
