Prior to Tyson Fury’s fight, Oleksandr Usyk’manhandled’ five sparring partners.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

For the first time in twenty-four years, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will square off in Saudi Arabia for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.

Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury’s impending opponent, is rumored to have “manhandled” each of his last five sparring partners as the two fighters get ready for their historic forthcoming match. For the first time since 2000, the undisputed world heavyweight championship is in play, and both competitors hope to cement their place in the annals of history in May.

When Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield at the start of the new century, there was a lot more on the line than there was now. But, the winner of the fight between Fury and Usyk, which is scheduled to take place at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will undoubtedly go into sports history.

This highly anticipated fight was originally scheduled for earlier, but it was rescheduled until May 18th after “The Gypsy King” sliced his face during training. The fighter, who was born in Manchester, comes into the ring with a bad attitude after his last battle due to a lackluster performance.

After narrowly defeating UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou by split decision in October, Fury hopes to show that this setback was an anomaly in an otherwise outstanding career. The opponent, Usyk, comes into the bout having recently defeated Anthony Joshua three times in a row and defeated Daniel Dubois.

The WBC, WBA (super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring Magazine heavyweight belts are on the line in Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk’s forthcoming heavyweight fight. Boxing icon Johnny Nelson has shared his thoughts on the match. He stated, in an interview with Sky Sports, “Speed leads to power – and both fighters can get knocked out.”

“I know [Usyk] had five heavyweight sparring partners, I spoke to three of them and they said he got stronger as the rounds went on, and he manhandled all five of them,” he stated regarding Usyk. He then said about Fury: “Tyson is a fighting man, once the bell goes he’ll try everything he can possibly get away with until the referee tells him off.”

Will things turn physical? Sure. Will he employ every filthy method known to man to ensure his escape? Without a question. It’s a combat sport,” he went on, acknowledging that each player had to draw on all of their prior experience to win. “Most fighters when they get there, they play by the rules.”

He needs to shove him roughly, lean on him, strike him hard, knock him down, get in his face, rub his glove in his face, and execute all the unconventional moves. To make himself comfortable, he needs to rattle the man. Usyk is likely to face significant challenges due to Tyson Fury’s physical attributes, which mostly consist of his height, reach, and quickness rather than his strength.

Lawrence Okolie, a former cruiserweight world champion, is supporting Fury in the run-up to the fight in Riyadh. He told Mirror Fighting that he is picking Fury to win because of his unquestionable strength and mental toughness.

Okolie stated, “I believe Fury should prevail. He is a large man with a sharp mind for boxing and a gifted boxer. If the battle does not go his way, I believe he will be able to adjust. I believe Usyk is excellent, but he will find it difficult to execute many of his skills against someone the size and caliber of Fury.”
